Atelier 3D

Nowadays, modern institutions also include educational and lecturing centres. For that reason, the South Bohemian Theatre also has its own ATELIÉR 3D (3D Studio). It was established in 2015 by the present manager of the South Bohemian Theatre, Lukáš Průdek, along with director and choreographer Veronika Poldauf Riedlbauchová. Since 2016, the centre has been led by Michala Piskačová. Ateliér 3D aims to provide children and adults a close-up introduction to the world of theatre by “starting from the kitchen”. It uses the theatre to establish links between ensembles and organisations, but above all between people and their ideas.

The work of Ateliér 3D spans four kinds of activities including programmes for schools such as theatre workshops and interactive tours of the theatre, regular courses for the general public, events for the general public such as the Night of the Theatres, the neighbourhood festival to commemorative festivities on the occasion of the Velvet Revolution Rozsviťme demokracii (Let’s Light Up Democracy), and cooperation with organisations such as the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes, Post Bellum and the Memory of Nations, the University of South Bohemia, primary and secondary schools in the region, and others. Under the auspices of Ateliér 3D, an exhibition was organised to mark the 100th anniversary of the South Bohemian Theatre, the Room of Miracles, prepared for the South Bohemian Museum, and a book for the same anniversary with the title Po stopách Jihočeského divadla (Following the traces of the South Bohemian Theatre).
