An immersive production about the search for adulthood
South Specific 2026 – first time at the festival
Climax is an immersive theater production set in a club of the same name. One evening, six characters meet there who have more in common than is apparent at first glance. Each of them is coping in their own way with the demands placed on them by early adulthood, as well as those they place on themselves. Are they fighting their own past and future, or are they just running away from it? And doesn't the pursuit of independence just lead to other dependencies? They may not yet know who they want to become, but they are beginning to discover who they don't want to be.
Climax is inspired by the aesthetics of rave clubs. The audience, like the individual characters, enter the club as visitors and will all have the opportunity to communicate with each other during the performance. We recommend that you prepare for this possibility and, if necessary, adapt your clothing or makeup to the chosen aesthetics.
During the performance, viewers have the opportunity to move freely around the designated space and focus their attention on whatever currently interests them. Parallel acting events take place in the space, and it is up to each visitor to decide whether to follow one of the characters, devote their attention to several of them, or choose a completely different approach.

"...when I was little, it was really nice / I remember going camping with my parents in the summer / I remember how my dad told me one morning that we were going to the maternity hospital to see my mom, and I couldn't wait to see them / all the kids envied me for having a dad like that / and then my dad and mom showed up, exhausted, and I suddenly knew that I could handle anything / I remember sitting at the Christmas table: me, my dad, and my mom bringing a huge bowl of potato salad, which was so good..."
The production Climax was prepared by the Pomezí theater. The Prague theater group Pomezí focuses on interactive performative genres that develop contemporary forms of theater. Its main focus is on exploring different forms of immersive theater, but it also engages in other interactive forms, such as audio walks, narrative spaces, LARP projects, and productions for a single viewer.
