South Specific 2026 – festival premiere

The Garden Party event combines immersive theater and visual installations, inviting viewers to a shared feast and bringing the spirits of the past to life. The project was created specifically for the unique space of Kraffer's Garden in Jindřichův Hradec. An evening full of stories will recall the rich history and current struggle to preserve this unique place. It is as if our hostess, Baroness Černínová, were predicting the future of the garden and bringing its stories to life to entertain her guests. But what will happen when all the beings who have ever lived here meet during a single festive evening?

Musashi Entertainment Company is a company primarily engaged in original theater, as well as visual arts and installations, audio production, woodcarving, musical instrument manufacturing, traditional crafts, and workshops for children and adults. The group was founded at KALD DAMU, and its founding act was the premiere of the puppet show Entomologious (2020). Under the name Musaši Entertainment Company, two full-length productions, four puppet shows, the Miniatures puppet project, which now has six pieces, and the LOUTKY UNLIMITED project have been created. The main tools of the group's theatrical work are visual dramaturgy and a hazy narrative presence. The scenographic and dramaturgical core of the group consists of the founding members of Musaši Entertainment Company, Tereza Havlová and Adam Páník (graduates of the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theater at DAMU). Production is handled by Františka Jesenská (a student at the DAMU Department of Production). The group strives to change the production team for each project in order to bring new impulses to the creative process and develop the group's theatrical language. In 2023, the group was honored by the ...příští vlna/next wave... festival in the talent of the year category. In 2025, the ensemble represented the tradition of Czech puppetry in the Czech pavilion at EXPO 2025 in Osaka.

The complete festival program, including the Opening Weekend, will be on sale from March 3, 2026. The South Specific Festival is part of České Budějovice – European Capital of Culture 2028. The festival is held under the auspices of the mayor of the statutory city of České Budějovice.
