Lukáš Sládek

Lukáš Sládek, a young Czech bass-baritone, started his singing career in the Kühn Children’s Choir. After his final examinations at grammar school he was accepted into the class of Professor Antonín Švorc at the Prague Conservatoire. As early as the second year he was invited to double in parts in a graduate performance where he sang the role of Don Bartolo in The Marriage of Figaro. Since 2007 he has been collaborating with the Prague Original Music Theatre (the “A Night with Mozart“ and “The Incredible Dvořák“ projects). At the Antonín Dvořák International Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary in 2008 he was awarded third prize, and also took the prize of the Prague National Theatre and the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec. He attended master classes with the bass Alessandro Svab in the same year. Besides opera, he also sings choral works and chamber vocal works from the Baroque period.
