Bogdan Kurowski, a native of Częstochowa, completed his vocal studies at the Warsaw Academy of Music and Performing Arts in the class of Edmund Kosowski. Even before his graduation, he had made his debut in the part of Don Alfonso in Così fan tutte on the stage of Warsaw’s Grand Theatre. He is a finalist of singing competitions in Warsaw, Barcelona and Bregenz. In the course of time, he gradually received engagements in opera houses in Bydgoszcz, Bytom, Lodz and Poznań. Audiences not only in Poland, Germany, Great Britain, Spain, Italy and Austria but also in Korea and Japan have become acquainted with his powerful cantabile bass. Since 2003 he has been singing regularly with the opera ensemble of the Moravian-Silesian National Theatre in Ostrava. Bogdan Kurowski’s opera repertoire includes approximately 60 parts, the most successful of which are – in addition to the Commendatore - Mefistofeles (Faust), Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro), Sarastro (The Magic Flute), Dulcamara (The Elixir of Love), the Water Goblin (Rusalka) and Banco (Macbeth).
