Elena Rossi

Elena Rossi comes from Reggio Emilia, where she studied voice at the Bologna Accademia filharmonica. She made her debut in Stravinsky’s opera The Rake’s Progress at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste in 2004. She is a sought-after performer of 20th century operas and made her Prague debut as Thérése in Poulenc’s opera Les Mammeles de Tirésias, staged by the State Opera in 2007. She first appeared in her native country in the role of Mozart’s Donna Anna at the Teatro Verdi in Pisa. In Italy, she reaped great success as Verdi’s Violetta (Sferisterio Opera Festival in Macerata) and as Massenet’s Thais at the Venetian Gran Teatro La Fenice. She has recorded for the Naxos label (Rossini’s Il Signor Bruschino and Ferrari’s La vedova scaltra.)
