Your opera about Jan Amos Comenius evoked such strong feelings in me that I feel the need to share them. Let me thank you for probably the most powerful artistic experience in my life. The opera Comenius evoked in me completely new feelings. After the premiere, I was literally overwhelmed with emotions, both positive and sad. Now, a week later, memories of that experience come flooding back. My only petty complaint is that sometimes the chorus could not be fully understood, but the subtitles saved the day. Your performance was intense and opened my eyes to how poignant the life of a character like that of Comenius can be. The emotions the opera evoked in me are unrepeatable and unique. Each scene was a visual reminiscence of the paintings of the old masters, and the music was almost cinematic. Also, Mr. Pilař’s speech in the foyer was exceptional, and I sat through Ms Klaudová’s performance without moving a muscle.
