What mark will we leave on the world we inhabit?
Due to atmospheric warming, oxygen levels fluctuate, and humanity is “gasping for breath.” If one day it becomes impossible to inhale oxygen, what will be left of us? What reality are we heading toward? How will our basic needs for life be met?
6 Degrees is a dance and performative installation featuring a mixed-reality experience, inspired by the escalating warming of our planet. Through movement and technological installations, including advanced virtual reality technology, the creators weave images reflecting the tension between the needs of the human body and the changing planet. Four performers, through the expressiveness of their bodies and imagination, remind us of the fragility of human existence.
6 Degrees is a co-production project of the contemporary dance platform ME-SA (CZ), the artistic collective Motionhouse (BE), and the creative studio Brainz Immersive (CZ). Inhale is a movement that refers to the moment of our arrival in this world. It is a movement mantra of life, a source of our energy. It is a solo dance about connecting with the life-giving environment that our planet provides.
The production is part of the South Specific festival program.
