South Specific 2026 – festival premiere
This production, inspired by the life of Tábor native Jiří Hrzán, is not a portrait of a famous actor, but rather an attempt to capture the moment when a person leans over the edge—and doesn’t yet know whether they are flying or falling. It begins with a memory. And also a question: what compels us to climb higher, even when we know that gravity exists? Together, we explore the themes of life’s and artistic courage, risk, and the joy of crossing boundaries—and that fleeting moment of losing balance—the moment when the center of gravity shifts and the world transforms. The theater becomes a place where the past meets the present, where the spirit is put to the test, and where humor mingles with seriousness. A production about audacity, about the desire to live intensely—and about the price we sometimes pay for it.
Perhaps it’s worse to fall. And perhaps it’s worse never to take flight.
