PINKBUS
Česko jako divadelní show
"Everything will be fine, a future we never dreamed of awaits us. I can see that clearly. An earthly paradise at first glance, a happy future: we'll have three cars here, a swimming pool with air conditioning, and we'll have a telephone installed in the barn. And the whole world will wonder what we Czechs are all about! We won't get lost anymore, especially now that we have one foot in Europe!"
PINKBUS hezky česky continues the successful format of PINKBUS Slovak and žiadny iný! As the name suggests, this time the focus will be on Czech social and political topics – whether it's world-famous national stereotypes or more serious issues such as the housing crisis, the situation on the labor market, or growing nationalism and racism. In the spirit of the legacy and tradition of legendary Prague travesty shows, the platform once again raises the bar for the cabaret and drag genres. You can look forward to opera, country, and folklore performed by renowned Czech and Slovak artists.
The heart of the show will belong to the icons of the platform – Martin Talaga's Venice is a must, and Tomáš "Grófka" Procházka returns to the stage to take over the imaginary scepter from Venice, bringing a classic travesty figure inspired by the icons of Czech culture Helena Růžičková and Jiřina Bohdalová.
Dust off your sandals, wash your socks, and get ready to dance!
The program was prepared by the PINKBUS ensemble. PINKBUS Platform is a Czech queer performative platform that connects theater, music, and visual arts. The collective experiments with form and content—drag, travesty, cabaret, and stand-up—and creates a safe space for queer authorship. The collective is based on the collaboration of a larger team, the core of which consists of Martin Talaga, Adriána Spišáková, and Tomáš Procházka. Among its best-known projects are SOMA, PINKBUS, Headless Mule, and Já Johan*. The platform opens up social discussion, supports the development of queer culture, and strengthens the role of queer art as a tool for inspiration and dialogue between the community and a wider audience.
Martin Talaga, creator (director and concept) and performer in PINKBUS hezky česky, won the 2025 Thalia Award in the Alternative Theater category for his performance in the production PINKBUS slovenský a žiadny iný.
