One hundred years have passed since the birth of Marilyn Monroe. One hundred years since the birth of a myth. The South Bohemian Theatre Ballet presents an original dance production about a woman who became an icon of desire and a symbol of the American dream. Behind her legendary smile was fragility, behind her success a feeling of loneliness, behind admiration deep pain. Marilyn longed for love, recognition, and freedom, yet her life turned into a dazzling and cruel ride between the heights of fame and painful falls. When on stage she comes alive, and like a woman of flesh and blood, she is passionate, vulnerable, and untamed. Marilyn’s story is reenacted by the vocalist of a live band thus infusing the dance performance with sensuality, energy, and the feel of Hollywood’s golden age.
