Jiří Hájek_

Baritone Jiří Hájek studied voice with Peter Mikuláš and René Tuček. In 2004 he was engaged as a soloist at the J. K. Tyl Theatre in Pilsen, appearing in the roles of Vladislav (Smetana - Dalibor), Escamillo (Bizet - Carmen), Malatesta (Donizetti - Don Pasquale), Count Almaviva (Mozart - Le nozze di Figaro), Don Giovanni (Don Giovanni), Papageno (Die Zauberflöte), Bohuš (Dvořák - The Jacobin), Figaro (Rossini - Il barbiere di Siviglia), Kalina (Smetana - The Kiss) and Pseudolus (Martinů - The Soldier and The Dancer). Since 2008 he has been a soloist of the opera ensemble of the National Theatre in Prague, where he has enacted baritone roles in operas by W. A. Mozart - Papageno, Don Giovanni, Count Almaviva, and Guglielmo. Further, he also sings Belcore (Donizetti - L’elisir d’amore), Adolf of Harasov (Dvořák – The Jacobin), Orfeo (Gluck - Orfeo ed Euridice). He has performed as a guest at the opera houses in České Budějovice, Opava, Ostrava, and Brno.
