This German national romantic opera performed on our stage will be directed by the king of Czech film fairy-tale and presently renowned opera director, Zdeněk Troška.
Weber based his work on classicism. Freischütz had the world premier in 1821 in Berlin. Composer´s mysterious fairy tale arises mainly from his admiration for evening and nocture nature, and it is based on folk tale with horror features. The story of the freeshooter, Max, striving for the hand of Agathe and his rival Kaspar, who has sold his soul to devil, is arranged into a ingenious orchestration. That is the reason why are the listeners to this music poem about the magic and horror of forest, the good and the bad in man always charmed.
