Hotel Fatigue
Continuo Theatre
Theater inspired by real stories of real people
Everyone at this hotel is a little tired. The staff and the guests. In fact, they are very tired. Tired of life, work, relationships, and even this place. The reception, restaurant, corridors, and rooms are all the same, yet each one is different—depending on who stayed or stays there. Everyone and everything needs to rest sometimes. But how and where? A busy day is followed by a restless night, because in this hotel, someone is always awake.
Hotel Fatigue is an immersive site-specific production prepared by Divadlo Continuo in the premises of the former Blanice hostel in Týn nad Vltavou. The two-and-a-half-hour performance will offer viewers a completely unique theatrical experience, during which they will be able to wander with the actors through the rooms and common areas of the former hotel complex, meet dozens of characters with their small and large stories, and be fully immersed in theatrical situations and images in a hyper-realistic, almost cinematic setting.
As is typical for Continuo, the production will speak to the audience through the language of physical, dance, and visual theater. All this will take place in the evocative setting of a large hotel complex, built in the style of late socialist architecture with an extremely rich and interesting history. Hotel Fatigue is part of the Landscape of Stories project, curated by Divadlo Continuo as part of České Budějovice European Capital of Culture 2028, with the participation of a number of Czech and foreign partners.
The production is part of the South Specific festival program.
